The Pitt season 2 finale release date has been confirmed with a staged rollout that includes early screenings in cinemas before its streaming debut.

HBO Max and Warner Bros. Television announced that the final episode will be shown in select theatres on April 13, ahead of its release on the platform on April 16.

The early screenings will take place across 10 Alamo Drafthouse locations in the United States. Cities included in the rollout are New York (Brooklyn), Boston (Seaport), Raleigh, Naples, Dallas (Cedars), Austin (Mueller), Denver (Westminster), San Francisco (Mountain View), Twin Cities (Woodbury), and Los Angeles, where a downtown venue will host the event.

The screenings are being presented as healthcare appreciation events. Current and former healthcare workers are encouraged to attend, although tickets are also available to the general public. Entry is free, but attendees are required to reserve seats through the Alamo Drafthouse website by purchasing a $10 food and beverage voucher.

The release strategy reflects a growing trend of offering television finales in cinema settings, allowing audiences to experience key episodes in a shared environment.

The approach also increases visibility for The Pitt, which follows the experiences of medical staff during a single shift at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Centre.

Season 1 focused on a mass shooting at a music festival, while Season 2 is set during Independence Day Weekend. The series features Noah Wyle, Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez, and Sepideh Moafi.

Created by R. Scott Gemmill, the show is executive produced by Gemmill, Wyle, John Wells, Erin Jontow, Joe Sachs, Simran Baidwan, and Michael Hissrich, with Warner Bros. Television serving as the studio.
