Raiwind electric rickshaw plant inaugurated
A three-wheeler electric vehicles plant was inaugurated on Monday by Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce Shafay Hussain in Raiwind.
The minister observed various stages of the electric rickshaws production.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, he said that the Punjab government is paying special attention to the promotion of the electric vehicles sector.
He said a provincial EV policy would be issued soon, while work was also under way on an environment credit policy.
He said 1,000 electric buses had been ordered from China and efforts were being made to establish an assembling plant of the buses in Punjab.
The minister said the promotion of the electric vehicles sector would reduce environmental pollution and help in eliminating smog.
Shafay Hussain said a plan to establish an industrial estate on 1,400 acres of barren land in Sialkot had been approved.
