Universal Pictures has released a new clip from the highly anticipated fantasy musical “Wicked: For Good,” now streaming exclusively on Peacock.

The preview highlights performances by Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, alongside Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard. The expanded cast also includes Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Michelle Yeoh, Marissa Bode, Colman Domingo and Bowen Yang, continuing the studio’s ambitious vision for the two-part adaptation.

Early press reactions that surfaced in late December praised the film’s scale, emotional depth and musical execution, fueling predictions of another strong awards season. The first “Wicked” film earned 10 Academy Award nominations, winning for best costume design and production design, and industry analysts expect similar recognition this year. According to early forecasts, Erivo and Grande are again likely contenders in the best actress and best supporting actress categories, potentially joining a small group of performers nominated twice for the same role.

During a recent Q&A, both stars reflected on their personal connection to the musical. Erivo shared that seeing “Wicked” for the first time at 25 made her feel “safe,” a sentiment that later shaped her portrayal of Elphaba. Grande became emotional while describing how returning to acting through Glinda helped her “reconnect” with her craft after feeling distanced from it.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, “Wicked: For Good” is positioned as one of Universal’s major year-end releases and continues to build momentum across social platforms. Fans can watch the newly released clip now on Peacock as anticipation grows ahead of the film’s full release.
