Gilani advocates tolerance for harmony

ISLAMABAD:

Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani Sunday said that tolerance and patience are essential qualities for building peace and stability in any society.

In his message on the International Day for Tolerance, the Senate chairman maintained said without encouraging tolerant attitudes, social harmony cannot be achieved.

He said that meaningful dialogue and mutual respect are key pillars of democratic traditions, and parliament is responsibly carrying out its role in promoting national unity, tolerance and social cohesion. Gilani noted that all sections of society must stand together against extremism.
