The Islamabad administration has made e-tags mandatory for all vehicles operating in the capital.
Vehicles already equipped with m-tag will not be required to obtain the new tag.
To enhance security and make the federal capital safer, the district administration has decided that every vehicle on Islamabad's roads must have an E-Tag.
Deputy Commissioner Irfan Memon said e-tags will be issued from November 18 and will be available at various points across the city. Citizens will be informed in advance about all designated locations.
Motorists must bring their vehicle registration card when applying for an e-tag.
The requirement applies to all vehicles registered in Islamabad as well as other provinces.
Director Excise Bilal Azam clarified that vehicles with an existing m-tag do not need another tag. In collaboration with the FWO, 8 to 10 points will be designated for issuing m-tags. At the Islamabad Excise Office, m-tag installation is ongoing, and any vehicle visiting for official work can have the tag installed.
He added that two FWO vehicles are available at Kachnar Park for m-tag installation, and one or two more points will soon be announced for public convenience.
