Representing Pakistan for the first time at the United Nations, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar met the Saudi Minister for Foreign Affairs on Wednesday to discuss matters of mutual importance.
Earlier in the day, Khar participated in the opening session of the 66th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
She is scheduled to address the General Assembly session on September 23. Earlier on Tuesday, FM Khar met the Foreign Minister of Japan Koichiro Gemba. According to a press release issued by the Pakistan mission to the UN, FM Gemba told his Pakistani counterpart that the Government of Japan would provide $10 million to Pakistan as emergency aid for the victims of the floods in Pakistan.
Khar also met EU High Representative Lady Catherine Ashton and informed her, according to a handout, that Pakistan was “keen for market access as it would help in creating employment and dispensing aid.” According to the press release, Lady Catherine Ashton “expressed deep concern over widespread devastation by the recent floods in Sindh.
The foreign minister held bilateral meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Australia, Mauritius, Indonesia and Netherlands. She also met Kashmiri leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.

The problem is of Pakistan itself and ISI (your own creation). You are feeding, nurturing and supporting these thugs, and your judiciary is joke. Violence seems to imbed your society. My heart goes out for poor peoples who suffer without their fault. I wish you well.
We should appreciate rather than mud slinging. During these meetings it gets to know each other and we must not forget that she is first Women Foreign Minister from our country so wish her good luck.
Our Foreign Minister should rush all Islamic and neighbour countries to get as much support as she could over War against terror and get rid of it as soon as possible. We have sustained billions of dollars loss against the war of America and now our economy cannot do it more. All the NATO forces should leave the region at once and let Afghanis, Syrian and all Muslim countries should decide their own fate by themselves.

In current wave of globalisation of which many countries around Pakistan are part of, maintaining a healthy relation is becoming vital. I strongly hope and pray that she is doing well to connect the nation with rest of the world. May God save her from pessimistic eyes!

All these meetings are simply not generating much Aid thou, it seems.
