A man who rushed at Ariana Grande during the Singapore red carpet premiere of Wicked: For Good has officially been charged in court, according to new reports.

The incident, which went viral on Thursday night, unfolded at Universal Studios Singapore where the cast was promoting the upcoming musical film.

Authorities confirmed that the man, identified as 26-year-old Australian Johnson Wen, has been charged with being a public nuisance. BBC News reported that Wen, widely known online as “Pyjama Man,” intends to plead guilty. Under Singapore law, the charge carries a fine of up to S$2,000 (approximately $1,540).

Video from the premiere showed Wen leaping over a barricade and sprinting toward Grande as she posed for photos. Co-star Cynthia Erivo, who stood beside her on the carpet, immediately stepped in between Wen and the singer while security pulled him away. The unexpected breach sparked widespread shock among fans online.

Wen, who frequently posts videos of himself approaching celebrities at concerts and premieres, later shared on Instagram that he was “free after being arrested.” His post about the incident — captioned “Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You” — was quickly met with thousands of critical comments. Social media users questioned how he repeatedly gains access to stars, with many calling for stricter actions against him.

Grande, Erivo and the rest of the Wicked: For Good cast continue their global promo tour for the film, set for release on Nov. 21. Their final stop is scheduled for New York City on Monday.
