IGP Islamabad reviews police operations, orders improved service delivery

He further emphasised need to make Safe City Islamabad system more effective

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, held an important meeting at Safe City Islamabad, attended by DG Safe City Muhammad Haroon Joya, DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, DIG Headquarters Malik Jameel Zafar, and other senior officers.

The meeting included detailed discussions on police operational affairs, the effective use of technology, and strategies to improve citizen services.

The IGP directed officers to further enhance response times during emergencies, ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property, and promote data-driven decision-making.

He emphasised the need to make the Safe City Islamabad system more efficient and to strengthen inter-agency coordination, aiming to further improve public safety and law and order.

He also expressed his commitment to developing the Islamabad Police along modern lines and transforming it into a model force.

The attacker detonated his explosives near a police vehicle after failing to enter the court premises. The explosion damaged several vehicles and sent shockwaves across the federal capital.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the bombing, terming it a “cowardly terrorist attack orchestrated by India-backed networks,” while Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said preliminary evidence pointed to links between the Islamabad and Wana attacks with groups operating from Afghanistan.
