QUETTA:

Internet and mobile networks remained suspended for a second consecutive day across Quetta and other parts of Balochistan, following serious security warnings, officials from the Home Department confirmed on Wednesday.

According to sources, the communication blackout was implemented as a precautionary measure after intelligence agencies flagged potential terrorist threats. Authorities stressed that the move aims to safeguard the public and prevent any untoward incidents in the province.

Security measures have been significantly tightened, particularly in Quetta. Large deployments of police, Frontier Corps (FC), and other law enforcement units are stationed across the city. Strict inspections are being conducted at all major entry and exit points, and the movement of vehicles and pedestrians is being closely monitored.

The suspension of internet and cellular services has disrupted daily life. Students, media workers, doctors, and business professionals have reported major difficulties in performing routine tasks due to the communication blackout.

In response to safety concerns, several private schools in Quetta have announced temporary closures until November 16.
