‘Scary Movie 6’ brings back original cast, adds new stars

The upcoming Scary Movie 6 is adding new star power and bringing back some familiar faces.

Damon Wayans Jr., Kim Wayans, and Heidi Gardner have officially joined the cast of the horror-comedy sequel, while longtime franchise favorites Cheri Oteri and Chris Elliott are set to return.

Character details are being kept under wraps, but given the series’ unpredictable tone, fans can expect plenty of surprises. Oteri, an original cast member from the first Scary Movie (2000), famously played Gail Hailstorm, a parody of Courteney Cox’s Scream character, Gale Weathers. Elliott, who portrayed the eerie mansion caretaker Hanson in Scary Movie 2, also appeared in Scary Movie 4 as a different character, Ezekiel.

Scary Movie 6, produced by Miramax and directed by Michael Tiddes, is currently in production. The sequel reunites franchise creators Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Keenen Ivory Wayans, who co-wrote the script alongside producer Rick Alvarez. Returning cast members include Marlon and Shawn Wayans, Regina Hall, Anna Faris, Lochlyn Monroe, Dave Sheridan, and Jon Abrahams.

New additions also include Olivia Rose Keegan, Sydney Park, Gregg Wayans, and Benny Zielke. The film will be released worldwide by Paramount Pictures on June 12, 2026, under its first-look deal with Miramax.

The Scary Movie franchise, known for its sharp parodies of horror and pop culture, has been a fan favorite since its debut in 2000. With this mix of new talent and returning icons, Scary Movie 6 promises to deliver the same chaotic, laugh-out-loud energy that defined the earlier films.
