Paris Jackson reveals shocking nose damage from past drug use

Paris Jackson has opened up about the lasting impact of her past drug use, revealing that it caused a perforated septum. The 27-year-old shared a video on social media, showing her nostril and explaining the condition, which creates a hole in the cartilage or bone between the nostrils. The actress highlighted that the injury makes her breathing audible, creating a noticeable whistle.

Jackson traced the cause to her drug history, telling viewers, “Don’t do drugs, kids … I don’t recommend it because it ruined my life.” She admitted she has been living with the condition since around age 20, describing the challenges of managing it in daily life, including in the recording studio. The perforated septum, while not life-threatening, can be treated with ointments, saline rinses, or surgery. Paris said she avoids plastic surgery due to her commitment to sobriety, having celebrated nearly six years clean.

The daughter of the late pop icon Michael Jackson also reflected on her sobriety journey, which reached its five-year milestone earlier this year. She shared that staying sober has allowed her to experience life fully, from making music to enjoying time with her pets. “It’s because I’m sober that I get to smile today … I get to make music. I get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cat. I get to feel heartbreak in all its glory. I get to grieve. I get to laugh. I get to dance,” she said.

Paris’ candid admission serves as both a warning and a reflection on the personal consequences of substance abuse. Despite the physical and emotional challenges, she emphasises the positive impact of sobriety on her overall wellbeing.
