Dispatch developers comment on Season 2 as Aaron Paul expresses hope for future instalments
Adhoc Studio’s developers have commented on the potential for a second season of Dispatch, following the game’s recent success. Dispatch combines strategy sim gameplay with a narrative centred on a retired superhero managing a team of heroes and former villains.
Since its release, the game has sold over 1 million copies in its first 10 days and achieved an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam. Fans worldwide have praised the game, making it one of the highest-rated releases of 2025. This reception appears to have influenced the studio’s consideration of a continuation.
During an interview on The Friends Per Second podcast, Adhoc co-founder Pierre Shorette noted, “[I think] that we’re going to have to at least think about Season 2 now.”
He added that the idea was “a question mark three weeks ago” but has shifted following Dispatch’s reception. “That was a question mark three weeks ago. So, it’s a very cool problem to have,” Shorette explained.
The current storyline of Dispatch is ongoing, with the finale scheduled for November 12, 2025. Fans have expressed interest in seeing more, with some noting that the characters have grown on them and saying they are “not ready to say goodbye.”
Aaron Paul, who voices the main character, has also voiced his hopes for future seasons. In a discussion with MoistCr1tikal, the voice of Sonar, Paul said, “I hope that you and I get to do multiple seasons of this game. I hope we get to do more.”
Any continuation, however, may be several years away, as Adhoc Studio is also developing an official Critical Role game.
Fans and industry observers will be watching for updates regarding Dispatch’s future, reflecting both the game’s commercial success and strong audience engagement.
