Global lawmakers gather for democratic dialogue
ISC 2025 aims to strengthen democratic dialogue among participating nations

Parliamentary delegations from around the world arrived in Islamabad to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC) 2025, scheduled for November 11-12, under the theme "Promoting Peace, Cooperation and Democratic Dialogue".
Parliamentary delegations from Jordan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kenya, Palestine, Morocco, Rwanda, the Maldives, Malaysia, the Philippines, Serbia, Nepal, Liberia, Saudi Arabia and other countries have arrived in the federal capital.
The delegation from Jordan led by Deputy Prime Minister Taufiq Kreishan arrived in Islamabad. The delegation includes Member of the Upper House of Jordan Rakan Hammadeh Al-Fawaz along with other officials. Senior officers of the Senate of Pakistan warmly welcomed the Jordanian delegation.
The Azerbaijan delegation is led by Deputy Speaker of Milli Majlis, Ali Ahmadov, and the Uzbek group by their Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Supreme Assembly, Sodiq Safoev.
The delegation from Cameroon is led by Member of Parliament Kamasse Simon Pouhe.
Former President of Guatemala Jimmy Morales, Deputy Speaker of Kenya Farah Maalim Mohammed, and Speaker of the Palestinian National Council Rawhi Ahmad Mohammad Fattouh also arrived with their respective delegations.
The delegation from Saudi Arabia is led by Vice Chairman of the Shura Council Abdullah bin Adam Falaatah. It includes Dr Usman Haqqamani, Abdullah Atlas and Dr Moeen Al-Madani. Senator Nadeem Ahmed Bhutto and senior officers of the Senate Secretariat warmly welcomed the Saudi delegation.
The Moroccan Speaker of the House of Councillors Mohamed Ould Rachid, the Rwandan President of the Senate Francois Xavier the Maldives Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdullah, the Malaysian Deputy President of the Upper House Nur Jazlan bin Mohamed also arrived in Islamabad alongside their delegations.
The Algerian delegation, led by Member of Parliament Saad Arous, the Barbados delegation, led by Speaker of the Parliament Arthur Eugene Holder, and the Serbian delegation, led by Deputy Speaker of its National Assembly Edin Ðerlek joined the other delegations as well.
The Tajikistan Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aziz Giyozoda and officers of the international organisation GCPR Global, Dr Nurul Alam Mozumder, also arrived in Islamabad, with Nepalese Secretary of the House of Representatives, Harka Raj Rai, and the Liberian Speaker of the House of Representatives Richard Nagbe Koon following suit.
Other notable figures who have landed in the capital for the ISC included officials from the Philipines and the Chairman of the Hydrocarbon Committee and Member of the Peace and Reconciliation Committee of the House of Representatives, Sam P. Jallah.
Senior officers of the Senate Secretariat, including the General Protocol Senior Director Tariq Bin Waheed and other officials, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests at the airport.
