RAWALPINDI:

A fraudulent faith healer was booked in a torture case after he allegedly subjected a local citizen to severe physical assault.

Following the circulation of a video of the incident on social media, Waris Khan police have registered a case against the self-styled spiritual healer, Kamran Khan, also known as Peer Latkan Shah.

The footage purportedly depicts the accused violently beating an elderly and credulous man, compelling him to offer repeated apologies and striking him as he lay on the ground.

According to police officials, the case has been registered under FIR No1692/25 on the complaint of Police Constable Shehzad Ahmad. The FIR alleges that in the viral video, Peer Latkan Shah was seen physically assaulting the victim, coercing him into repeated apologies, and issuing threats.

The accused is reputed to engage in black magic and to claim powers of spiritual healing—both acts prohibited under the law.

Police said that the video, showing Peer Latkan Shah assaulting a man with a stick while demanding apologies, surfaced on social media earlier this afternoon. Following the registration of the case, a search operation has been launched to apprehend the suspect.
