Plan for 125 years ahead: PMA
It's time to think beyond immediate maritime needs and plan for the next 125 years, said Commodore Rizwan Ali Munawar, Commandant of the Pakistan Marine Academy (PMA), during the International Maritime Week hosted at the PMA Headquarters in Hawke's Bay.
The event was organised by the Pakistan Marine Academy and attended by a large number of nautical and engineering cadets. Tamizuddin Khero, Chairman of the BB Shaheed Human Resource Research and Development Board, was the chief guest.
In his address, Khero emphasized the theme "Our Ocean, Our Responsibility, Our Opportunity," calling it a reminder that the sea is a precious national asset that must be protected. "The ocean is a major source of future prosperity," he said.
Pakistan, he added, is actively working to safeguard the rights and welfare of its seafarers on the global stage, ensuring international recognition of their standards and professional competence. In his keynote speech, Commodore Rizwan Ali Munawar said the event marked not just a reflection on the present but the beginning of a strategic journey.
He reaffirmed the powerful theme, "Pakistan's Maritime Future 2047-2147," urging the nation to look beyond short-term needs and plan boldly for the next 125 years.
