The Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) has sought recommendations from districts across the province to establish new police stations and outposts. This initiative aims to ensure quality and timely policing services for the public and provide a better working environment for the police force.
The IGP directed City Police Officers (CPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to review and improve the jurisdiction of police stations in their respective areas to enhance operational facilities for both the public and the force, instructing them to identify areas where new police stations or checkpoints are needed.
In response to the IGP's directives, Rawalpindi CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani has asked the three Divisional SPs to submit proposals for creating new police stations and outposts in the district by November 8.
Key proposals currently under consideration for Rawalpindi include: Upgrading Adiala Police Post, New Station in Housing Society and Dividing Sadiqabad.
Sources indicate that these proposals are currently under discussion at the senior level. The final recommendations will be forwarded to the IGP, who will then submit them to the Home Department for final approval.
