Fake FIA officials loot Islamabad resident
Suspects assault victim in Tarnol and force ATM withdrawal

Eight men wearing Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) uniforms allegedly robbed a citizen of Rs200,000 in the Tarnol area of Islamabad.
According to police sources, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of Tarnol Police Station, where eight unidentified individuals, claiming to be FIA officials, stopped a local resident, allegedly assaulted him, and forced him to withdraw Rs200,000 from an ATM before fleeing
The victim, Muhammad Asif, a building contractor, complained to the police that he was driving home from Dhoke Paracha when two vehicles intercepted him.
The occupants introduced themselves as representatives of a government agency, demanded to see his identification, and subsequently forced him into one of their cars.
Asif reported that the suspects were travelling in a Toyota Corolla and a Suzuki Alto, appeared to be between 30 and 35 years of age, and were dressed in uniforms resembling those of a government department. He further alleged that the men beat him, threatened to kill him, and later took him to a UBL ATM booth in Tarnol, where they compelled him to withdraw the money. The suspects then absconded with the cash.
Despite filing a formal complaint at the Tarnol Police Station, Asif claimed that no action had been taken even after three days.
Police officials confirmed that CCTV footage from the surrounding area and the ATM is being reviewed to identify the suspects.
Investigators are also examining whether the perpetrators were genuine government personnel or members of a criminal gang misusing official uniforms to target citizens.
