Pop star Halsey was reportedly assaulted onstage during her Back To Badlands tour stop in Washington, D.C., after a fan reached out and grabbed her butt mid-performance.
The disturbing moment was caught on video and quickly went viral, sparking widespread anger from fans and fellow artists.
The incident occurred while Halsey was performing her hit song “Is There Somewhere” near the edge of the stage, where fans were gathered closely. In the footage, one audience member can be seen slipping their hand under the singer’s leather skirt as she sang, visibly invading her personal space. Another concertgoer or security staff member appeared to intervene moments later, swatting the hand away.
Fans flooded social media to express outrage, condemning the individual’s actions and calling for stricter concert security. One fan wrote, “This is disgusting — Halsey deserves respect, not harassment.” Another commented, “People like this should be banned from all live shows.”
I can’t even believe i have to say this. Respect Halsey and DO NOT touch her or anyone like this without their consent. You people are unbelievable.#BackToBadlandshttps://t.co/eIJKB1pzU2

While Halsey has not issued a public statement regarding the incident, the video has reignited discussions about concert safety, fan boundaries, and artist protection during live performances. Many argue that physical contact without consent, even in a concert setting, constitutes sexual assault and should be treated as such.
The pop star, known for her advocacy on social issues and women’s rights, has faced similar boundary violations in the past. This latest incident underscores the ongoing challenge artists face balancing fan interaction with personal safety.
Authorities have not confirmed whether any legal action will be taken against the individual involved.
