Mehsud's guard gets bail in Ramswami firing case
.

The South district judicial magistrate on Wednesday approved bail for a security guard accused of aerial firing in Ramswami following the death of a citizen hit by a dumper truck in Garden area on November 3.
The guard, Meraj, is co-accused alongside the Dumper Owners Association President Liaquat Mehsud. During the hearing, the defence counsel argued that Meraj fired warning shots only to protect himself after an angry crowd attacked him at the scene. The magistrate granted his bail against a surety bond of Rs30,000.
Meanwhile, a District and Sessions Judge extended the interim bail of the main accused, Liaquat Mehsud, until November 11. Mehsud appeared in court with his lawyer as the complainant's counsel submitted a vakalatnama and requested his criminal record be verified.
The court summoned the investigating officer along with the case file at the next hearing.
According to the prosecution, Mehsud was earlier granted interim bail of Rs50,000 in the case registered at Garden Police Station. The incident resulted in the death of a young man, Shahzaib, after being struck by the dumper.
