Four die of dengue in 24 hours across Sindh

Province-wide outbreak claims 25 lives this year as infections exceed 10,000

The ongoing dengue outbreak in Sindh has turned deadlier as four more fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours — two in Karachi and two in Hyderabad. Dengue has claimed 25 lives so far this year. According to the latest data from the Sindh Health Department, 1,192 new infections have been confirmed province-wide, pushing the total number of dengue cases past 10,500.

Health officials said that 13 deaths occurred in October alone, while 12 fatalities have been reported in just the first six days of November — eight in Hyderabad, three in Karachi, and one in Tando Allahyar.

Breaking down the fatalities in Karachi, Malir District recorded three deaths, East and West districts two each, and Korangi one. Hyderabad reported four deaths, while Tando Muhammad Khan saw one fatality.

According to the report, during the past 24 hours, 5,899 dengue tests were conducted across Sindh, of which 1,192 came back positive. In Karachi Division, 4,371 tests were conducted with 642 positive cases, while Hyderabad Division recorded 550 positive cases out of 1,528 tests.
