Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown has been arrested and extradited to the United States on charges of attempted murder.

The 37-year-old ex-football star was taken into custody in Dubai and returned to the U.S. this week following allegations that he tried to shoot a man at an influencer boxing event in Florida earlier this year.

According to TMZ Sports, Brown was escorted by federal agents from the United Arab Emirates to the New York Metropolitan Area, where he was handed over to local law enforcement. He is expected to be transferred to South Florida, where the incident allegedly took place in May 2025.

Authorities say Brown will face one count of attempted second-degree murder with a deadly weapon. The alleged victim, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, previously told reporters that Brown “snapped” at the Adin Ross-hosted boxing event and attempted to shoot him during an argument. Video footage captured gunshots ringing out moments after the altercation.

Brown, however, has maintained his innocence, claiming he acted in self-defense after being targeted by a group of men trying to rob him. His legal team has not yet released a formal statement regarding his extradition or pending charges.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Pittsburgh Steelers player has faced multiple controversies since his NFL exit, including previous arrests and business disputes. His latest arrest marks one of the most serious allegations against him to date.

Brown is currently being held at the Miami-Dade Department of Corrections as authorities prepare for his arraignment in the coming days.
