YouTube creator Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson has spoken out after fake comments attributed to him went viral following the election of Zohran Mamdani as New York City’s next mayor.
Mamdani was elected on November 4, 2025, in a race that had already attracted widespread social media attention.
Shortly after the results were announced, a screenshot began circulating online showing messages that appeared to come from MrBeast’s official account during a live stream discussing the election.
The screenshot, posted by an X user named Stanley Baldwin, featured a fake account using MrBeast’s name commenting, “Bro, he’s nothing special,” “Every US [politician] speaks like that,” and “NYC is cooked.”
Baldwin captioned the image, “Mr Beast getting a little mad on the Zohran livestream,” implying that the comments came directly from the YouTuber.
MrBeast quickly denied any involvement, replying to the post and writing, “Why is it that every day now, I wake up to a new fake tweet of something I never said?”
Community notes added under the original post clarified that the comments came from an impersonator using a verified-looking YouTube account named ‘MrBeast’ with the handle ‘BeastIndustries.’
The channel, which includes links to MrBeast’s real ventures like Feastables and a jobs website, reportedly has over 123,000 subscribers but no uploaded videos.
This incident adds to a growing list of impersonation attempts targeting the YouTube star. In 2023, MrBeast addressed the rise of AI-generated deepfake videos using his likeness to promote scams, and in 2022 he warned fans about fake giveaways circulating on YouTube using his name and image.
MrBeast’s latest comments highlight ongoing issues with online impersonation and misinformation across social media platforms.
