PIA flight diverted to Karachi after windshield cracks

The Pakistan International Airlines Flight PK-859, which made a precautionary landing in Karachi Jinnah International Airport earlier today, was due to cracks in its windshield from pressure, not a bird strike, revealed the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).
The incident occurred at 34,000 feet, as the flight, travelling from Lahore to Jeddah. Repairs to the aircraft are expected to take around 12 hours. The aircraft’s technical logbook indicates no bird strike during the flight.
At no point during the flight did the situation become an emergency, and the plane landed safely, the PAA added.
According to sources, 344 passengers were on board, all of whom have been transferred to a hotel.
