Minecraft YouTuber Dream has opened up about his growing concerns for his gaming career after breaking his wrist earlier this year during a sparring session with fellow creator Sapnap. The practice match was meant to help Sapnap prepare for the now-canceled Creator Clash 3 boxing event, according to Dexerto’s report.
The injury occurred in April 2025 when Dream, who had little boxing experience, joined Sapnap for a friendly training session. Footage from the bout shows Dream throwing wide, overhead punches that caused him to strike with his wrist instead of his knuckles. Following the incident, Dream shared on X (formerly Twitter) that he was struggling to move his wrist and unable to record videos, though he initially hoped the pain would subside on its own.
Months later, a specialist informed him that he had fractured his scaphoid bone, requiring surgery. Despite an expected one-month recovery period, Dream revealed that his healing has taken much longer than planned. He continues to wear a cast and has been undergoing experimental ultrasonic therapy to accelerate bone regeneration.
In a YouTube video posted on November 4, Dream discussed the toll the injury has taken on his gameplay, noting that his aim and precision in Minecraft have declined noticeably. “I’m really hoping that it’s fine,” he said. “But there’s a big part of me that’s very scared. I’m thankful for everyone’s support and just want to put out the best content I can.”
Dream assured fans that he’s committed to recovery and plans to “come back stronger” once fully healed. Ironically, the Creator Clash event that sparked the injury never took place — it was postponed and eventually canceled following organizational changes and backlash surrounding its former leadership.
