RAWALPINDI:

Security forces neutralised four Indian-sponsored terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan's Kalat district, as part of their ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the 'Azm-e-Istehkam' vision, the military said in a statement on Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the IBO was conducted on the night of November 1, following reports of the presence of "terrorists belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Hindustan."

"During the operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorists' location, and as a result, four Indian-sponsored terrorists were sent to hell," the ISPR said. "Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who had remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities."

The ISPR added that sanitisation operations were under way to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists found in the area.

"The relentless counterterrorism campaign under the vision 'Azm-e-Istehkam' (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan) by Pakistan's security forces and law-enforcement agencies will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country," it stated.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for carrying out the successful operation in Kalat. In separate statements, they lauded the forces for killing four India-backed terrorists, terming it a major achievement for national security.

The president, who is currently on an official visit to Qatar, said the entire nation stood with the security forces and remained committed to the complete eradication of the scourge of terrorism.

Similarly, PM Shehbaz reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue its war against terrorism until its complete eradication, reiterating that the entire nation stood firmly behind the armed forces with an unwavering resolve to protect the homeland. (With input from APP)
