Gas explosion rocks SC canteen, leaves 12 injured
A gas explosion in the basement canteen of the Supreme Court on Tuesday left 12 people injured, including two in critical condition, prompting a swift rescue and evacuation operation.
According to initial reports, the blast occurred in the air-conditioning gas plant installed in the canteen's basement, shaking parts of the building and forcing lawyers and court staff to rush outside for safety.
Rescue teams immediately arrived at the scene and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Rescue officials said the explosion was caused by a leak in the AC gas system, which ignited during maintenance work.
