Pakistan's first Asia Pacific Padel Tour Grand Slam concludes

Spain dominated in the Asia Pacific Padel Tour pro event, while Pakistanis won the amateur finals

The APPT McDonald’s Karachi Grand Slam wrapped up on Sunday at Legends Arena, delivering Pakistan’s first padel event featuring international players and the most globally diverse padel tournament held in the country to date.

Competitors represented Spain, Argentina, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Iran, Thailand, the UAE, and Pakistan, with packed stands across three action-filled days.

In a broadcast milestone for the sport locally, the tournament featuring international players was televised live satellite tv and streamed global, giving fans in Pakistan and abroad front-row access to world-class padel.

Spian's Sergio Icardo Alcorisa and Francisco Jurado Sosa defeated compatriots Marc Bernils and David Quiros 4–6, 6–1, 7–6 in the men's pro final.

Argentina's Ceres Liñan Ramirez paired with Spain's Elisabeth Nogueras outplayed Pjilippines's Joanna Tao Yee Tan
and Thailand's Ji Vichithong (THA) 7–6, 7–5 in the women's pro final.

In the mixed pro final, Bernils teamed up with Nogueras, they defeated Filipino pair of Argil Lance Cañizares and Joanna Tao Yee Tan 6–1, 6–3.

On the other hand, Pakistani players shined at the amateur finals.

Pakistan's Ayaan Saeed and Omar Qamar defeated felow Pakistanis Bashar Ashfaq and Raffay Ahrar 6–3, 7–6 in the men's amateur final.

Huzaima Abdul Rehman and Salina Khan outplayed Saira Umer and Zain Rajani 6–2, 6–1 in mmateur mixed final.

Pakistani pair of Saira Umer and Asfa Shahbaz overcame Kieatsupa Tupanan (THA) and Iran's Samira Biyabani 6–4, 6–4 in amateur women’s final.

This was a landmark for Pakistan’s padel journey The Grand Slam featured Pro and Amateur divisions across men’s, women’s and mixed doubles, bringing international-standard competition and organisation to Karachi.

Squash legend Jahangir Khan attended the prize ceremony alongside representatives from event partners.

The tournament carried a total prize pool of USD 13,000 and underscored the rapid growth of padel in Pakistan, with strong local performances in the amateur draws and high-caliber international play at the professional level.
