Pop singer Tate McRae has addressed recent criticism surrounding her live performances with a new TikTok video posted on November 4 2025.
The post, which featured the caption “Cuz apparently I don't sing in my shows :)”, appeared to respond to ongoing accusations that she lip-syncs during her concerts.
The backlash began after a viral clip showed McRae appearing to sing into an upside-down microphone during a choreography-heavy section of a performance.
The incident sparked widespread debate on social media, with many users questioning the extent to which she relies on pre-recorded vocals during live shows.
This is not the first time McRae has publicly responded to such criticism. In March 2025, she reacted to earlier viral videos by saying, “Like, f**k me! I'm singing this whole show! You need to watch the whole show, you don't know the whole picture.”
She also remarked in another comment that she would prefer to use a headset microphone to balance her demanding choreography with live singing.
Fans have largely praised McRae’s latest TikTok for addressing the criticism directly, while others continue to discuss the role of pre-recorded tracks in modern pop performances that incorporate complex dance routines.
