Jon Stewart is sticking around a little longer. On Monday night’s episode of The Daily Show, the comedian confirmed he’ll continue hosting Comedy Central’s flagship late-night series through 2026, marking the show’s 30th year on air.

“Lots of news to discuss, including, apparently, something I read today, that The Daily Show will be coming back for another year,” Stewart quipped to roaring applause.

“We got another year. It is our 30th year when we come back on the air. And like most 30-year-olds, we are still thinking about going to law school.”

He went on to thank viewers for keeping the show alive: “We don’t take for granted in any way how much your support means, so that we get a chance to keep making the best show that we can make for you. So we truly appreciate that. Thank you.”

Paramount and CBS confirmed that Stewart will remain host and executive producer through December 2026. He’ll continue to appear on Mondays, while the show’s correspondents rotate hosting duties from Tuesday to Thursday.

“Jon Stewart continues to elevate the genre he created,” said Ari Pearce, head of Comedy Central. “His return is an ongoing commitment to the incisive comedy and sharp commentary that define The Daily Show.”

The renewal comes at a turbulent time for late-night television, with several long-running programs facing cancellation or controversy. But for The Daily Show, it seems the news, and the laughs, will keep coming.
