Eight candidates to contest NA-185 by-poll

DERA GHAZI KHAN:

A total of eight candidates are now left in the race for the NA-185 Dera Ghazi Khan-II by-election after 10 contenders, including former federal minister Zartaj Gul's husband, Akhund Humayun Raza, withdrew their nomination papers.

According to the Returning Officer (RO) Muhammad Waseem Khan Jatoi, the final list of contesting candidates (Form-32) has been officially issued, while election symbols are expected to be allotted later today.

As per the list released by the RO, the candidates remaining in the contest include Allah Bakhsh (son of Lakho), Suhail Maharuddin Gilani (son of Syed Fazaluddin Gilani), Zafar Bashir (son of Malik Bashir Ahmad), Mureed Hussain (son of Ghulam Mustafa), Nawab Muhammad Ali Faisal Sadozai (son of Muhammad Afzal Sadozai), Abdul Aziz Baloch (son of Muhammad Aslam), Sardar Dost Muhammad Khan Khosa (son of Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa), and Mahmood Qadir Khan Leghari (son of Abdul Qadir Khan Leghari).

Those who have withdrawn from the by-election include Dr. Muhammad Shafiq Khan Pitafi, Sardar Muhammad Jamal Khan Leghari, Sardar Muhammad Khan Leghari, Syed Abdul Aleem Shah, Usama Abdul Karim, Anas Abdul Karim, Muhammad Latif Khan Pitafi, Umar Adil, and Akhund Humayun Raza.
