Britney Spears deletes Instagram amid Kevin Federline memoir dispute and growing fan concern

Britney Spears deactivates Instagram following worrying posts and tension over ex-husband Kevin Federline’s memoir

Britney Spears has deactivated her Instagram account following a series of concerning posts and renewed public attention surrounding her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s new memoir, You Thought You Knew.

Spears’ profile was no longer viewable as of November 2, with a message indicating that the page “may have been removed.” The decision came after weeks of fan concern over several social media posts, including videos of the 43-year-old singer dancing in her living room and a clip shared on October 7 showing visible bruises and bandages on her arms and wrists. Spears said at the time that she had fallen down stairs at a friend’s home, adding that she wasn’t seeking pity but wanted to “be a good woman and be better.”

In another post dated October 19, Spears reflected on spending four months in rehab in 2018 while under her 13-year conservatorship. She described experiencing “brain damage” and used imagery from Maleficent to express feelings about resilience and loss.

The social media activity coincided with the release of Federline’s memoir, which revisits their marriage and parenting. Federline, 47, alleged troubling behavior and expressed fear for Spears’ well-being. Spears responded on X (formerly Twitter), accusing him of “gaslighting” and publicly profiting from her pain.

A spokesperson for Spears told PEOPLE that she remains focused on her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being amid the ongoing media attention. The statement added that others “are profiting off her” just as child support payments have ended.
