1,340 test positive for dengue in Sindh
Dengue cases rise 12.6% in Sindh during first 10 months of 2025

Dengue cases continue to climb across Sindh, with the provincial Health Department reporting a 12.6% increase during the first ten months of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
According to the latest health data, 2,428 dengue cases were recorded across the province by October last year, while 2,734 cases have been reported during the corresponding period this year.
During the past 24 hours alone, 3,680 tests were conducted across Sindh, of which 1,340 came back positive. Karachi Division recorded 590 positive cases out of 2,032 tests, and Hyderabad Division reported 750 cases from 1,648 tests.
Sindh Health Secretary Rehan Baloch said that 179 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in the last 24 hours — 99 in public hospitals and 80 in private facilities. During the same period, 200 patients recovered and were discharged — 74 from government hospitals and 126 from private hospitals. No new dengue-related death was reported.
The report states that 434 patients remain under treatment — 238 in public hospitals and 196 in private hospitals.
Meanwhile, 17 laboratories are currently conducting dengue testing in Karachi, including four government-run and 13 private facilities.
Two die in Hyderabad
The devastation caused by dengue mosquitoes continues in Hyderabad. Another young religious scholar and Hafiz-e-Quran from Hyderabad lost his life at a hospital in Karachi, while an 18-year-old girl passed away at Liaquat University Hospital. With these deaths, the number of fatalities due to dengue in Hyderabad has reached 25.
In the past 24 hours alone, 793 new cases of dengue have been confirmed, and over 200 patients are currently under treatment in government and private hospitals.
According to a report issued by the Health Department, 18-year-old Alishbah, daughter of Abdul Rehman, a resident of Latifabad Unit No. 9, who was under treatment at Liaquat University Hospital, passed away during treatment. She was admitted to the hospital on October 30 and died on November 1.
On the other hand, 30-year-old Hafiz Muhammad Arshad Madni from Mustafa Homes in Latifabad Unit No. 9, also succumbed to dengue while under treatment at a private hospital in Karachi. Madni was the fifth among eight siblings and was affiliated with Jamia Masjid Subhani in Latifabad.
