4,857 couples wed under 'Dhee Rani' initiative

Punjab Government initiative was carried out in three phases

The Punjab government has organised 66 mass wedding ceremonies over the past nine months under its flagship "Dhee Rani" programme, enabling 4,857 deserving couples to begin their married lives with full financial and logistical support.

According to official data, each couple received a wedding package worth Rs200,000, which included bridal attire and complete wedding arrangements.

The initiative, supervised by the Punjab Social Welfare Department, was implemented in three phases, each demonstrating strong administrative performance and public response.

During Phase 1, 25 mass weddings were held, followed by another 23 in Phase 2, while 18 ceremonies were organized in October alone under Phase 3.

District-wise figures show that 204 couples were married in Dera Ghazi Khan, 200 each in Bhakkar and Muzaffargarh, 169 in Lahore, 163 in Gujranwala, 149 in Okara, 148 in Multan, 169 in Jhang, and 139 in Khanewal.

Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Sohail Shaukat Butt said the Dhee Rani programme had received tremendous appreciation, particularly in South Punjab, where many low-income families benefitted from the initiative.
