Diplo makes shocking revelation about Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau amid their new romance

American DJ Diplo has sparked online discussion after claiming in a recent interview that he dated both Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau.

The comments surfaced just days after Perry and the Canadian Prime Minister made their relationship public.

A video from Diplo’s interview with journalist Nayeema Raza has gone viral, showing the DJ discussing various topics before suddenly saying, “Now Katy Perry is dating Justin Trudeau.” Raza responded that she was aware of the news and asked Diplo if he had dated Perry, adding that she “meant Trudeau.” Diplo replied, “Oh, I did date Trudeau too. That was a weird one though. Because I’m just, I’m not in the positions.”

Perry and Diplo were previously linked in 2014 after being spotted together at Coachella. The pop star later ranked the producer last among her former partners, behind John Mayer and Orlando Bloom, during an appearance with James Corden on the Witness World Wide live stream. 

Meanwhile, the singer's relationship with Trudeau has drawn global attention since they were first photographed holding hands in Paris last month. The couple were later seen together on a yacht.

Perry is currently completing The Lifetimes Tour, supporting her latest album 143, which debuted at number six on the US Billboard 200.
