Sindh Rangers nab key extortionist from Lyari’s Wasiullah Lakho gang
‘Tamba Ali’ is accused of over 50 robbery incidents, confesses to ethnically-motivated murders

Sindh Rangers arrested a most-wanted extortionist associated with the Lyari gang war’s Wasiullah Lakho group in an intelligence-based operation in Lyari.
Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the arrested suspect’s possession.
The accused, identified as Muhammad Ismail alias Tamba Ali, was involved in all activities of the Lyari gang war.
These include over 11 cases of murder or attempted murder, target killings, kidnappings for ransom, police encounters, drug trafficking, and extortion, as well as over 50 incidents of robbery and street crimes.

During interrogation, Ismail revealed that he had joined Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London in 2005, and in 2008 had become part of the Lyari gang war’s Uzair group alongside Wasiullah Lakho.
The accused had previously been arrested by Kalakot Police in 2020 and Shah Faisal Police in 2023, after which he was imprisoned. Upon being released on bail, he went into hiding.
The accused is a proclaimed offender and absconder in several registered cases, and has confessed that numerous of the murders he participated in were ethnically motivated.

Further, Ismail remained actively involved in multiple operations alongside Lyari gang war commanders Wasiullah Lakho, Sharjeel Dawa, Nisar Memon, Rizwan Pendu, Taj Muhammad alias Tajo, Mohsin Bawa, and Rizwan alias Mota.
The apprehended suspect, along with the recovered weapons and ammunition, has been handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.
