PR resumes freight service on Faisalabad section
The Faisalabad-Khanewal rail section, which had been closed due to recent flooding, has been partially restored, with freight services now permitted to operate on a limited basis.
According to railway officials, the Darkhana-Abdul Hakim section has been reopened exclusively for freight trains. Initially, a locomotive (AGE-30) will make three to four trial runs through the site to assess track safety and operational readiness.
Officials said that if the test runs proceed successfully, freight trains will be allowed to pass through the section during nighttime hours.
