Diversion plan for Kachehri Chowk unveiled

The City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi issued a comprehensive traffic diversion plan to ensure smooth flow during the Kachehri Chowk remodelling project, which is scheduled to begin on November 3.
The Kachehri Chowk mega project involves the construction of three flyovers and three underpasses from the Annexi area up to University Chowk.
All routes leading to Kachehri Chowk would be closed for construction and diversions would be implemented from Sunday.
Explaining the diversions, the CTO said commuters travelling from Rawat via Jhelum Road towards Old Airport would use Bahria Phase 1 and High Court Road.
Those heading from Jhelum Road towards Peshawar Road and New Airport would take Morgah Turn, Attock Oil Refinery, Education Board Office, Defence Road, Khawaja Corporation Chowk, Tulsa Road, Tahli Mohri Chowk, Kalma Chowk and Bakra Mandi to reach 22 Number Chowk.
Similarly, traffic from Jhelum Road towards Saddar and Murree Road would be diverted via New Lalazar, Foundation University, COD Chowk, Burki Chowk, Convent Chowk and Family Ward Chowk to 22 Number Chowk,.
Commuters travelling from Old Airport towards Murree Road and Saddar would use Rawal Road, Fauji Tower, Tipu Road and the route under Rahimabad Flyover to reach Moti Mahal.
