Alexandra Daddario has finally responded to the viral fan movement casting her as the next Wonder Woman in James Gunn's revamped DC Universe, saying that she is both surprised as well as flattered by the online enthusiasm.

The actress addressed the growing speculation during an interview with ScreenRant while promoting her upcoming film' I Wish You All The Best'. "I have to be honest, I haven't seen any of that," Daddario said when asked about the flood of fan art depicting her as Wonder Woman or Catwoman.

"I'm flattered to hear that it's happening, but I haven't seen it," the 39-year-old star said, adding that she would love the chance to work with Gunn. "Working with James Gunn would be amazing in any capacity, but I wasn't aware that that was going on."

Best known for 'Baywatch', 'The White Lotus', and 'Percy Jackson', Daddario has long been a fan favourite for superhero roles thanks to her striking looks and commanding screen presence.

Fans online have been sharing AI renderings and edits showing Daddario in the iconic Amazonian armour, reigniting debate about who could best replace Gal Gadot, who previously played the character in multiple DC films.

Gunn confirmed earlier this year that a 'Wonder Woman' project is in active development as part of DCU's 'Chapter One: Gods and Monsters'. A prequel series titled 'Paradise Lost' is also in progress, and while no casting announcements have been made, speculation continues to dominate fan discussions on social media.

Online reaction to Daddario's comments was mixed. Some praised her as a natural fit, with one user writing that she "has the look and strength of a true Themysciran warrior." Others were less convinced, arguing that "no one can replace Gal Gadot." Several commenters suggested Daddario might better suit the role of Zatanna or Catwoman instead.

As excitement for the DCU's next phase builds, fans remain eager to see if Daddario will take on one of its most iconic roles. With Gunn's team still finalising scripts and casting decisions, her involvement remains purely speculative but the internet's fascination shows no sign of slowing down.
