A woman from Khanpur tragically died at Taxila Hospital after allegedly receiving a wrong injection, prompting her family to protest. The Medical Superintendent (MS) has ordered a formal inquiry into the incident.
According to hospital sources, the woman, a resident of Khanpur in Haripur district, visited Taxila Headquarters Hospital for treatment of minor leg pain. However, her condition worsened, and she lost her life. Family members allege that hospital staff administered the wrong injection, which immediately caused her health to deteriorate. Her cries and pleas caused panic in the hospital corridors, but unfortunately, she could not be saved.
The family has blamed hospital negligence and carelessness for the loss of their loved one, emphasizing that the patient had come for routine treatment, yet her body had to be returned to her ancestral home in Khanpur. They also noted that no action has been taken against those responsible so far.
On the other hand, Dr Kashif Azad, MS of Taxila HQ Hospital, stated that preliminary reports suggest the woman suffered a heart attack, which led to her death. Nevertheless, he confirmed that a full inquiry has been ordered. Local residents and social circles have expressed deep grief and anger over the incident.
