Demi Lovato recreates viral 'Poot' meme for Halloween

Demi Lovato went all out for her Halloween costume this year, reviving an old joke about herself..

The singer revealed her costume on Thursday, dressing up as “Poot,” a years-old meme based on a Photoshopped image of Lovato.

Poot was born back in 2015 on Tumblr when a fan took an over-exposed photo of Lovato and edited it to look distorted and almost bald, joking that it was the singer’s long-lost twin sister who was locked up in a basement. 

“happy halloween,” Lovato wrote on Instagram. “been so locked in this era thought i’d let pootvato out 🔒”

She also shared a TikTok video, showing off her basement digs while in costume. With Sabrina Carpenter’s “House Tour,” playing in the background, Lovato could be seen sweeping the floor and cowering in corners.

“hi AD it’s me poot, welcome to my basement!” Lovato captioned the video.

It’s not the first time Lovato has talked about the meme. In April, she posted a TikTok responding to a question about Poot’s whereabouts, joking that she was “never letting her out” of the basement.

Previously, the singer revealed that she wasn’t fond of the meme but after learning that the image was Photoshopped, she joined in on the jokes.
