Disney‑owned networks, including ESPN, ABC, FX, National Geographic, and Disney Channel, have disappeared from YouTube TV after the two companies failed to reach a new licensing deal, leaving millions of viewers without access to live sports, hit shows, and family favourites.

YouTube TV says Disney’s proposed terms would have disadvantaged subscribers, while Disney argues that the streaming service is trying to bypass the standard deals it has with other distributors.

Fans hoping to catch major sports events or popular series are now left frustrated, with some turning to alternative streaming services or cable subscriptions.

YouTube TV has promised credits to subscribers if the blackout continues for an extended period, but no resolution has been announced.

The dispute reflects an ongoing struggle over carriage fees and streaming rights, a recurring issue across the industry as traditional networks adapt to digital distribution.
