Taylor Swift's engagement ring replica sparks backlash among fans
A fan’s replica of Taylor Swift’s engagement ring prompts debate about fandom boundaries and respect

A fan’s Instagram and X post showcasing a replica of the engagement ring worn by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce has ignited criticism from parts of the singer’s fanbase.
The ring in question mirrors the vintage-inspired design created by jeweller Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, which Kelce co-designed as part of their August 2025 engagement announcement.
In late August the couple revealed their engagement, sharing a joint Instagram post that included the sparkling ring and the caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
On 29 October, a fan posted images of an apparently accurate replica of that ring; many Swifties responded by calling the move invasive, arguing that the design is part of a private milestone for the couple and should not be replicated so publicly.
Others defended the imitation as a form of harmless inspiration, noting that jewellery trends often draw from celebrity designs.
The high-profile ring itself has been analysed by industry media, which described it as an old-mine or cushion-cut diamond set in yellow gold with hand-engravings by Lubeck
