Floyd Roger Myers Jr., who gained early fame as the young version of Will Smith in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has died at the age of 42. His passing was confirmed by his mother, Renee Trice, who told TMZ that the actor died on October 29, 2025, at his home in Maryland.

According to TMZ, Myers’ cause of death was cardiac arrest. His mother revealed that he had suffered three cardiac arrests over the past three years, suggesting ongoing heart-related issues. The actor reportedly experienced another cardiac episode in the early hours of October 29, which ultimately proved fatal.

A GoFundMe page was set up by Myers’ family following his death, where his mother shared a heartfelt message mourning her son’s loss. “This not supposed to be so,” she wrote in an emotional Facebook post. Myers is survived by his four children — Taelyn, Kinsley, Tyler, and Knox. Details regarding his marital status have not been made public, but his family described him as a devoted father.

Myers began acting as a child and became known for portraying young Will Smith in the beloved sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He later played young Marlon Jackson in the acclaimed TV miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream. After a brief acting career that included a role in the 2000 drama Young Americans, Myers stepped away from Hollywood to focus on community work.

He co-founded The Fellowship Men’s Group, an organization promoting leadership, healing, and growth among men. The group paid tribute to Myers on Instagram, writing, “Gone but never will be forgotten. The mission will continue in your honor.”
