PESHAWAR:

Office bearers of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Peshawar City District, including chairmen and nazims, have announced a protest movement against Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.

Addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club on the death anniversary of Begum Nusrat Bhutto, PPP City District leaders Zulfiqar Afghani and Zulfiqar Awan expressed disappointment that no official event was held in K-P to commemorate the late "Mother of Democracy." They said the Press Club was the only place where she was being remembered.

The leaders paid tribute to Begum Nusrat Bhutto for her struggle against dictatorship, noting that she endured imprisonment and violence but never compromised on democratic principles.

They alleged that Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, appointed to strengthen the party in the province, was instead "destroying the PPP" by using the Governor House for personal interests. They claimed the Governor's actions had caused serious damage to the party's structure and morale across K-P.

Zulfiqar Awan accused the Governor of neglecting party affairs, saying, "People are leaving the party, but the Governor is busy making TikTok videos and attending social events." He also criticized the provincial president and general secretary for remaining "silent spectators" while the party's organizational structure had collapsed.

The leaders gave the provincial president, Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, and the general secretary a 10-day ultimatum to meet with them, resolve organizational issues, and restore district-level bodies. They warned that if their demands were not met by November 9, they would hold a press conference in Islamabad followed by a sit-in outside Zardari House.
