Overcharging: Reply sought on sealing laboratory
Dr Zeenat challenging sealing of her medical laboratory for allegedly overcharging for dengue fever diagnostic test.

The Lahore High Court on Wednesday sought replies from the health secretary and the district coordination officer on a petition by Dr Zeenat Hassan challenging sealing of her medical laboratory for allegedly overcharging for dengue fever diagnostic test.
The doctor submitted through her counsel, Raza Kazim, that on September 19, 2011, police officials along with some government officials entered her medial laboratory on Lawrence Road. The counsel informed the court that the laboratory was charging Rs90 for the test. He said that the government action was without lawful authority. The petitioner asked the court to declare the action illegal and restore the possession of the laboratory to her. She also requested the court to restrain the government from taking any illegal action in future. Justice Muhammad Khalid Mehmood Khan issued notices to the respondents for Thursday (today) and directed an additional advocate general to submit the replies.
