Sydney Sweeney speaks out about romance rumours with Glen Powell

After years of speculation, Sydney Sweeney finally addressed the romance rumors linking her and Glen Powell, in a new interview with Variety.

The Euphoria star put the online buzz to rest about any sort of romantic involvement with her Anyone But You co-star, emphasizing that it was all manufactured by the media.

"Honestly, the press did it themselves. There was no leaning in, per se," Sweeney stated, adding that, “Truly the tabloids and journalists just created it and kept going. “Even if we were just standing next to each other, it was, ‘They’re standing two inches apart!’”

Speculation initially gained momentum during promotions for their hit 2023 rom-com. Fans latched on to Sweeney and Powell's chemistry both on screen and in interviews, and pushed the idea that they are possibly a real life couple.

At the time, Sweeney was engaged to businessman Jonathan Davino, while Powell was dating Gigi Paris.

While the actress confirmed that there were no sparks flying between the two, she added that they remain close colleagues and "genuinely care for each other and have a love and respect for one another."

"I think people just truly saw a really beautiful pairing," she deduced.
