Toddler killed, three injured as roof collapses in Korangi

A one-and-a-half-year-old girl was killed and three others, including two women and a child, were injured when the roof of a house collapsed in Korangi's Zia Colony.

The incident occurred in when the victims were inside a room and a supporting beam suddenly gave way, causing the roof to collapse on them.

Rescue workers shifted the deceased and injured to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). The deceased was identified as Ayesha, daughter of Mohsin, aged one-and -a-half years. The injured included 45-year-old Hameeda, wife of Imamuddin, and seven-year-old Dua, daughter of Aamir, along with another woman.

Initial investigation revealed that the 40-50 square-yard house had a weak structure, and the collapse may have occurred due to excess weight on the roof. The house was occupied by tenants, while efforts are underway to trace the owner.
