ISLAMABAD:

Islamabad is set to burst into colour, rhythm, and festivity once again as the annual Lok Mela returns from November 7 to 16, inviting visitors from across Pakistan and abroad to celebrate the nation's rich cultural tapestry.

According to local media and Radio Pakistan, the ten-day festival will highlight the diversity of Pakistan's folk heritage, featuring traditional crafts, vibrant music, and captivating performances. Artisans, folk musicians, and cultural troupes from every corner of the country will gather to showcase their skills and traditions.

Organised by the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa), this year's event carries special significance as it marks the Golden Jubilee of Lok Virsa's founding - celebrating five decades of preserving and promoting Pakistan's cultural legacy.

As in previous years, residents of Islamabad and visitors alike will be treated to an array of cultural showcases, including folk music, dance performances, and exhibitions of handicrafts. The festival promises a colourful, family-friendly atmosphere for art enthusiasts and tourists.

Pavilions representing all provinces, as well as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, will offer glimpses into regional crafts, folk traditions, and cuisine.
