Supergiant Games has unveiled the first major post-launch update for Hades 2, bringing significant adjustments to the game’s true ending, progression, and in-game systems.

In a new Steam announcement, the developer detailed a preview for Patch 1, which introduces what it describes as “true ending enhancements.”

These include new events leading up to the finale and additional content following it. As part of the update, players will need to clear the Underworld more times before accessing the complete ending sequence.

Supergiant explained that “the vast majority of changes are to the Underworld route; the Surface route is mostly unchanged.” The studio has also revised several key scenes that play before the end credits, expanding the narrative experience for players who have already completed the main story.

Another addition is a new Cauldron incantation, allowing players to revisit earlier points in the story. This feature allows you to re-experience pivotal moments, such as the True Ending, without having to restart the entire game.

Adjustments have also been made to Fated Prophecies — optional objectives tied to character arcs and story progression.

According to Supergiant, several character-related prophecies, including those linked to the story epilogue, will now unfold faster than before.

The update further refines The Crossroads, the game’s hub area between the Underworld and the Surface. Decorative items now cost fewer Kudos, and any excess Kudos previously spent will be refunded.

This preview marks the start of Hades 2’s first full post-launch patch, which is currently available in Steam’s Beta branch. Supergiant has encouraged players to read the full patch notes for a detailed breakdown of changes and improvements.

Hades 2 launched to critical acclaim earlier this year, continuing the story-driven roguelike legacy of its predecessor.
