'Millionaire' domestic worker arrested in DHA

Police in the upscale DHA have arrested yet another "millionaire domestic worker" accused of stealing cash and valuables worth millions of rupees from his employer over the years.
Sahil police arrested the suspect, Wajid Ali, following a complaint lodged by a woman homeowner. A case has been registered against him, and a huge amount of gold and cash has been recovered.
Reportedly, the suspect had been employed at the complainant's residence for the past eight years. During initial interrogation, Wajid confessed to stealing cash, gold, foreign currency, and other valuables from the house on multiple occasions. He also admitted to transferring large sums of money through ATM cards and cheque-books, amounting to tens of millions of rupees.
Acting on information gleaned from the accused, police recovered two gold biscuits weighing five tolas each, two gold biscuits of two tolas each, seven gold biscuits of one tola each, and Rs227,000 in cash from locations identified by him.
The suspect further revealed that he had purchased expensive properties and vehicles using the stolen money and had transferred funds from his own bank account to others.
The accused has been handed over to Investigation Police for further inquiry. Investigators are now scrutinising the suspect's bank accounts, assets, and property records to determine the full extent of the theft.
